Editorial vs traditional: which style suits your product launch?

Two broad approaches sit behind most product launches: traditional, which prioritises clarity and consistency, and editorial, which goes after mood and story instead, often at the expense of a bit of that uniformity.

Traditional suits situations where the images need to look uniform or straightforwardly professional. Editorial suits situations where personality and atmosphere matter more.

Neither is objectively better. The right choice depends entirely on what the images are for, and that’s worth raising before a product launch is booked, not after the style has already been picked for you by default.

FAQs

Can you cover press and influencer attendees specifically?
Yes, a shot list covering key press and influencer guests can be built in ahead of time, so nobody important is missed in the coverage.

We are a new brand. How do we avoid the launch looking cheap?
That is the whole job. Considered framing, proper light and clean product shots are the difference between a launch that looks established and one that looks like a first attempt.
