02 What it costs

Gigs are quoted per project, not off a fixed price list — a three-song pit slot and a recurring venue contract need very different numbers. Send the venue and set time and one comes back.

03 Music gig photography: FAQs

How do you capture the feeling of a gig, not just the band?

By shooting the whole room, not only the stage. The faces in the crowd, the hands in the air, the light hanging in the haze. That is what carries the feeling to anyone who sees the photos afterwards, and it is what makes them want to be at the next one.

Do you cover full sets or just a few songs?

Either. Some bookings only need the pit for the first three songs, others want the full set covered, including crowd shots and the wider room.

Can you shoot in low light without flash?

Yes, that is most of the job. Gigs and small venues are shot available-light wherever possible, so the atmosphere stays intact instead of getting flattened by flash.

Do you work with venues as well as artists?

Yes, on both sides: artists and labels wanting performance shots, and venues wanting a library of room and crowd images for their own marketing.

Can you prioritise a few images for a release?

Yes. For time-sensitive releases a small batch of selects can be pulled and edited first, with the full set following after.

Do you need a photo pass or pit access arranged?

If the venue requires one, that is arranged ahead of the date, so let me know as early as possible if there is a pit pass process to go through.
